Floss Friday – Cross Stitch Finish and WiPs

Happy Friday, Friends!

I hope your weather is favorable, wherever you are. We get a couple days of warm temps and then they drop again. I’ve taken advantage of the pretty days by walking around the lake rather than the gym.

Chalk Full – Snowy Jar is my finish for this week.

It will join the small companion piece in the “under the bed box” and get fully finished closer to next winter. These were stitched on 14-count Aida in Chalkboard Black by Wichelt, using the called-for floss.

I pulled two more older WiPs to work on.

First is Red Bird Sampler by Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle & Thread. This is a project I started in 2022, so I’m working it out of order. It will be my evening focus while Ann Harper 1839 is in timeout…still waiting to be frogged.

I’m stitching Red Bird Sampler on 36-count linen in Patriot’s Brew by R&R Reproduction Fabrics. Using the called-for floss on this one as well. This is my starting point.

The next WiP, and my morning focus, is Memorial Day by Hands On Design. I started this one in 2020. It is my oldest WiP.

This project is stitched on 16-count white Aida. I’m not sure who made it. I’m not using the called-for floss but selecting threads from my stash as I go along. Here is my starting point on this one...well, sort of. The words "shed His" have to be frogged. They are off by one stitch in two directions.

This weekend I will be trying to put the final touches on my SAHRR quilt because the parade starts Monday. Wish me luck!

What are you plans? You already know I'm nosy 😄

I am working on getting my SAHRR quilted. but I have a photo of the completed top for the parade on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing how different people used the prompts.

The jar is just adorable, love the colors, the fabric, everything!
Hubs had surgery Wednesday and he is pretty sore, so I'm trying to do a little more for him without him noticing - lol! I'm hoping to get into my room later today and start cutting fabric for my grandson's wedding quilt.

Oh Jeanna, you are doing such a wonderful job on tackling those WIPS. Your stitches look amazing! I still need to finish the same jar and then I will have the series complete. Love the WTNT piece. We are going to get our taxes done and then I hope to spend some time working on a Spring cross stitch. I haven't decided which one yet. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

Wonderful work on the Snowmen Jar--your stitching is just beautiful...I am slow stitching (really quilting I feel) my 3rd Dark Days block to keep the raw edge woven strips in place...slow and enjoyable stitching...hugs, Julierose

Your snowy stitches are so cute! Congratulations on finishing them. I have just about 1 and a half of the Winter SAL squares to finish, and I'm dragging - ready for some Spring designs! The Redbird Sampler is gorgeous and so is Memorial Day. I love the flags hanging on the line! You can't go wrong working on either of those.

You Masons Jar is great - I love it on that dark background. Your 'new' project looks great too - a lovely traditional design. I shall be working on a small crazy patchwork heart for my nephews bride - secret stitching so no pics on my blog! Have a great weekend. xx

I love Snowy Jar! It really came out great! I like the other projects you're working on too. I'm having a quiet weekend working on various projects. It was warm today but it's already windy which is bringing in the cool air. Although it's Spring, some days still feel like Winter!! Hope you have a nice weekend!

Very cute small finish. And I'm in love with that Red Bird Sampler. I think I might have it actually come to think of it. Are you stitching with 1 or 2 threads? Happy Stitching from me, J
