Veteran’s Day 2024!
I’m very grateful for those who have chosen, and those who continue to choose, to serve our country in the armed forces. THANK YOU and many thanks to your family for this selfless act.
I am working on finishing –
at least to a flimsy stage – the quilts in my UFO pile. Next up is Flea Market by Lori Holt. This is the last of the three quilts I was
working on when we moved last year.
I had finished the center block
Finished churn dash blocks
Finished basket blocks
And now I’m working on the Primrose blocks.
Oh, how I would LOVE to
have this one finished by the end of this year.
I learned over the weekend that we have visitors every weekend in December, except one. I’ll spend a bit of time this morning reviewing the calendar, making plans and lists. We are heading into the busiest time of the year, and I couldn’t be more excited!
For now, I'll enjoy these visitors.

Those quilt blocks are going to create a lovely quilt. I have done zero planning for Thanksgiving or Christmas yet.
I love ALL your blocks! Looks like you are really going to be happily busy. Are those wild turkeys? Our daughter was going to host Thanksgiving this year (for the first time), but she recently started a new job and told me yesterday it was all mine if I wanted it. And yes I do! I was thrilled that she offered but secretly wanted to keep doing it myself - lol!
We are sad for those who are disappointed, but we are still walking on air from the "big event" last week! We are celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary plus that big event tomorrow at an old favorite Mexican restaurant.
Oh that is going to be one beautiful quilt!
Love your Flea Market blocks - hooray for moving that one forward! I love seeing the wild turkeys, too. We have a resident flock in our downtown here - you have to watch for them when they decide to cross the road! I've just been thinking about a Christmas gift I need to make - fortunately it's small!
I am hoping to finish most of the handmade Christmas gifts this week and perhaps get my loom back out to make myself a belt before the holidays. I am so looking forward to the holidays and all the company we will have on Christmas Day as well as the smells of baking goodies.

Your blocks are looking lovely, I am looking forward to seeing how this makes up. Well I have printed off the Shabby Art Boutique Christmas planner and thought about gifts and cards but that is about it! Oh but I did make my Christmas cake yesterday so yes, I have made a start. xx

The blocks are lovely, I wish I were not "sew challenged". The holidays are fast approaching and we have 2 birthdays sandwhiched in there to. Thank you for comment. Hi Jeanna, I just recently learned of a bread cloche. I think it is used primarily for sourdough, it steams the bread, it rises and bakes it all at the same time. I am in a learning curve and am looking for more information on the particulars as I don't have good results with the sourdough as a rule, and it doesn't often rise well and takes a long time. I'm hoping the cloche will help.
