Happy Monday, Friends!
Scrappiness Is Happiness
is a flimsy!
This photo doesn’t look
much different than last week’s because it is draped over the bed. Again…no
design wall. The borders are the same fabric as the sashing and background. This was what I worked on Friday night, when I joined Cheryll for Friday Night with Friends.
If you click her name above, you can see what others worked on then.
These are the backing and
binding fabrics I selected.
I did not fully finish the cross-stitch projects I had on my list. Honestly, I wasn’t in the mood. I need to be in the right frame of mind to do finishing and it escaped me last week.
Hubby and I took a stroll
through downtown over the weekend. I enjoy seeing how main street changes with
the seasons.
New barn stars are popping
up on some of the buildings. I’ll have to do a walk-about and take pictures of
them.
The lake is also in full
fall glory.
The winter birds are beginning to arrive back at the house. Not a very good photo but this little finch is very colorful.
We had a family dinner on Saturday so I made a small pan of buttermilk biscuits. I haven’t made them in a while, and I rarely make just a few. They were delicious. Hubby eats his for dessert, covered in butter and sour wood honey.Several stitchers completed their first assignment for the Witching Hour stitch-along. I’ll share those with you on Wednesday.
In the meantime, I hope
you have a great week!

You live in a charming place that you can stroll around and observe the seasonal changes. Lovely quilt, they are so pretty..and make things cozy & homey. Replying to your comment about the yarn. Yes that is true the gauge, hook, tension has to be correct. Alot of frogging goes on. It rather takes the enjoyment out of the process, and it is like playing yarn chicken always watching the colors. Not something I would probably engage in again. I love biscuits it is a work in progress for me....I'll get it one day, just like I did with the pie crust.
I think your quilt is so pretty but why is it called flimsy? I know nothing about sewing/quilting so maybe it is a certain pattern?
I'm not fond of ugly Halloween decorations but the ring of ghosts holding hands is so cuteđź’—.
Is that gray stone building a restaurant now? It has such a fancy front door; almost looks like it was a church once upon a time.
Scrappiness is Happiness turned out beautifully! I love those backing and binding choices, too. Looks like you've had some beautiful fall days recently!
Your scrappy quilt is so pretty, and the binding and backing will look great with it. How fun to get to stroll through your downtown, so pretty. Those biscuits look fantastic! I like your Hubs' idea.
A quilt flimsy is when just the top is completed. The top, batting and backing need to be put together, then quilted. The building with the barn star on it is the old apothecary. It is now a gift shop. Thank you for commenting. I didn't have your email to reply to, so I hope you see this.
Very pretty fabric choices for your backing and binding.
Your town looks so pretty in it's fall splendor.
The biscuits look scrumptious!
Jeana, thanks for explaining about your flimsy quilt. Now I know.
I'd love to see what you make with your hook.....:)
