GaRon Zoom Friends Stitch Along – Witching Hour

Happy Friday and November 1st!!

I’m popping in today to share about the zoom stitch-along I mentioned earlier.

Gary and Ronny of GaRon Stitchery host a Sunday zoom about every two weeks. In one of those sessions, a few of us discussed doing a stitch along for Witching Hour by Keslyns.

I had the idea of hosting the stitch along (SAL) but with a twist. I work better with a little structure, so I came up with a schedule of assignments. The first being, we would share our fabric and floss selections on Halloween (last night) and then letters A, B and C will be stitched by Sunday evening, November 3rd.  After that, we stitch three more letters every two weeks. There is a full schedule posted on the GaRon Facebook page and also in the description box of their most recent YouTube.

The fun part is that for every completed assignment, the participant will have a chance to win in two prize drawings. The first drawing will be held about halfway through the SAL and it is for a $25.00 gift certificate to GaRon Stitchery. The final drawing will be at the end for the participants who finished the SAL. That gift certificate will be for $50.00 to GaRon Stitchery.

The SAL participants email their “completed assignments” to me so that I can share with you.

So far, here are our fabric and floss selections:

Jeanna's

I’m stitching mine on 36 count linen, color Bewitched by Fabrics by Steph. My floss is good ol’ DMC 310.

Maria's

Maria H’s fabric is 32 count lugana, color Lavendar by Atomic Ranch. Her main floss will be Under Your Spell by Color & Cotton. She has selected a few more threads to add pops of color throughout.

Kathy's

Kathy F’s fabric is 40-count linen, color Witch’s Brew by xJude Design. Her floss (super fancy kind) is Black Needlepoint Silk.

Margaret's

Margaret D’s fabric is 18-count Aida, color Garden Party by Be Stitch Me. Her floss is Mistletoe by Romy’s Creations.

Sandi's

Sandi L’s fabric is 36-count Witch’s Brew by Lapin Loops. She is considering DMC 550 for her floss. She’ll decide once she starts stitching.

Lisa's

Lisa K’s fabric is 36-count linen, the color doesn’t have a name, but the dyer is Be Stitch Me. She is using a pretty NPI silk, number 103 Pansy Purple.

Connie's

Connie S’s fabric is a beautiful linen in the color Spellbound from Under the Sea fabrics. She will be using Dinky Dyes silk and Royal Purple from Gentle Arts.

Lynne's

Lynne D’s fabric is 40-count linen in the color Tornado by Fox and Rabbit. Her floss is Carriage Black by Gentle Art.

Tywanna's

Tywanna J’s fabric is 14-count Aida, color Service by Atomic Ranch. Her floss is DMC 930.

Sheila's

Sheila N’s fabric is 36-count linen in the color Halloween Pumpkin. I’m not sure who the dyer is, and it looks like she is using black floss.

Tara's

Tara B’s fabric is 20-count Lugana in the color Wicked by Handdyed by Jim. Her floss is Charcoal, also by Handdyed by Jim.

Carmen's

Carmen G’s fabric is 18-count Aida in the color Pumpkin King by Atomic Ranch. I think her floss is DMC 413 but I’m not sure I’m seeing the complete label.

Gary is also stitching along but I need to get his permission to share the photo he sent me privately.

I’ll post the SAL progress separately from my usual weekly update.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how different the selections were in fabric and floss. It will be fun to see how each project grows over the weeks to come.

I’ll be working on Witching Hour while joining Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' as she hosts Friday Night with Friends.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope to see you here on Monday for a quilt update.

That's a neat design! I enjoy the simple ABC samplers from PinkernPunkin, but have never tried something like that. I'll enjoy following along with your progress!

It is a neat design. When I first looked at it, I didn't see the alphabet. I just thought it was an interesting design.
