Hi friends! I hope all of you in the USA had a nice Thanksgiving last week. And for those who aren’t in the USA, or do not celebrate, I hope you had a nice week as well.
We
had both of our kids home for the first time in 10 years to celebrate
Thanksgiving and my birthday which was on the 26th. I’m ashamed to say that I did not take any
photos ☹ But trust me when I tell you we enjoyed all of
our favorite holiday foods as well as some quality family time.
I
want to share one of my birthday gifts.
It’s
a hand-turned bee skep scissor holder.
The pecan wood is so pretty and the workmanship is amazing.
My
husband ordered it from Pete and Kathy Firth who are @carolinacrosssticher on
Instagram. They typically post Pete’s
finished pieces on Sunday’s.
I
finished the December Calendar Crates pattern from Stitching with the
Housewives and fully finished it for the piece that hangs in my mom’s foyer.
I
took advantage of a Cyber Monday sale at GaRon Stitchery and ordered three
berry patterns. They came today…you can’t
beat those guys for quick shipping!
They
are all Erica Michaels designs.
I
found batting so I hope to finish the JOY banner / table runner that I made for
Mom. And I’ll continue to stitch Christmas charts.
What
are your plans for the weekend? Hope you
have a nice one.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, Jeanna;D
What a lovely little scissor keeper--beautiful in that wood...
Nice little berry pieces you've ordered too. I ordered a hand embroidery
Kathy Schmitz piece--that will be my hand work while doing all this SITTING!!
;(((
But I am feeling better on the whole...
Stay safe and healthy Hugs, Julierose
Happy Birthday! Glad you had a lovely celebration. My twin daughters have to share a Thanksgiving holiday with their birthday too. Love your December Calendar Crates patter. It's beautiful with all the embellishments that you added. It's good to have new ideas and patterns in the queue.
So much goodness in your post, first Happy Belated Birthday!!
And how wonderful that both your kids could help celebrate.
I love your latest stitching finish. I am curious what you wrapped the red checked fabric around, cardboard?
The scissor keeper is adorable. I didn't know the word "skep" so I looked it up. LOL. I can always learn something new!
Happy Birthday! I love your little bee skep! :0)
As I always say, you took time to enjoy the family gathering instead of document it. It sounds wonderful. Your maple scissor keep is gorgeous. That’s a wonderful gift. Your Christmas stitching looks so festive and pretty.
Happy belated birthday girl! Hope it was great.that bee skep looks so fabulous as does your stitchery. You go girl
Belated Birthday wishes - it sounds like you would have had a nice time, with both children with you to celebrate Thanksgiving and your birthday. I love the calendar crate stitchings you have been doing. The Skep scissor keep is gorgeous!
I am so sorry I missed your birthday! But I am glad you had a good one along with your family home and all that good food! I've seen those bee skep scissor holders...they're beautiful. I like your new patterns and your gift for your Mom is so sweet! You do such a great job final finishing. I hope you get to put your feet up and do some stitching on your new patterns.
