Happy Floss Friday, Friends.
This week has been a good week for cross-stitch.
First, I finished Melisa’s Summer Stamp release for this week.
Home Tweet Home has the cutest little birdhouse and bees buzzing about. They were so much fun to stitch. Visit Melisa at Pinker n Punkin’ Quilting and Stitching to see more stamps she has designed. They are seasonal and so much fun!
Unfortunately, I will be behind when I return from vacation. I’m going to miss the next two releases and will have some catching up to do when I get home.
And…I have a finish! Salute to Abigail by Blackbird Designs.
I had asked what you all thought about me replacing Abigail’s name with a date. I was encouraged to do so.
The details…
Fabric: 36 count linen by
XJudesigns in the color Frappucino
Floss: Valdani cottons in
Rich Wine, Withered Blue, Tealish Blue,
and one Aurifloss color #2311. I had a hard time finding a white to work on
this fabric.
Stitch Count: 147w x 149h
Stitched Size: 8/17” x
8/28
With any luck, a 10 x 10
frame will work, and I can finish it myself.
Before I move on to
looking ahead to the weekend…back to the Blogger issue. Linda, Linda’sRelaxing Lair, kindly sent me the link to the post
I referred to on Monday regarding our posts not appearing in reading lists in a
timely manner. And Linda, Texas Quilt Gal, was kind enough
to leave a comment with detailed instructions on how to add a blog roll to your
blogspot page. Go back here to read the comment. Also, Terry, On Going Projects,
was kind enough to send an email containing an article with instructions. That
article is linked here. Thank you all for your help. I’m
going to work on this as soon as I get home and settled from vacation.
Fat Quarter Shop releases
Sewcialites 3, block 16 today. I’ll work on that as soon as I see which fabrics
Kimberly Jolly uses for her block. Then I will be finishing some gifts for an
upcoming retreat. Monday’s post will show those items as well as progress on
the Granny Square afghan.
Enjoy your weekend and I’ll
see you soon.

Your summer stamps look so pretty! I can imagine you are gearing up for vacay - wishing you all the fun and safe travels!
What a beautiful finish! I hope you will find adding a blog roll an easy task. Have a great vacation!
Happy Floss Friday! Oh my goodness, congratulations on that gorgeous finish! "Salute to Abigail" looks absolutely spectacular, and replacing her name with the date was 100% the right call. It gives it such a timeless, personal heirloom feel. That 36-count Frappuccino linen is a stunning choice, even if finding the perfect white floss to pop against it gave you a bit of a headache. The struggle was totally worth it because the final piece is beautiful! Fingers crossed that the 10x10 frame fits like a glove so you can do the happy dance of fully finishing it yourself.
"Home Tweet Home" is also just precious. Those little bees and the birdhouse are pure summer joy. Don't even stress about falling behind on the next two stamp releases while you're away. Vacation is all about unplugging and relaxing, and you'll have the best time catching up with a cozy cup of tea when you get back.
It is so incredibly heartwarming to see the blogging community rally together like that to help with the reading list glitch, too! Linda, Terry, and Texas Quilt Gal are absolute gems for sending over those fixes and blog roll guides. It really makes this space feel like a giant family.
Where are you heading off to for your vacation? I hope you have the most magical, restful time, and I can't wait to see your retreat gifts and Granny Square progress on Monday! Safe travels and huge hugs!
Both of your projects look wonderful, Jeanna! I'm still just on the star block for the Summer SAL, so go have a great time on vacation and maybe I'll be caught up to you by the time you come back, lol! I like your dates on Abigail - they are perfect for making this your project.
Dear Jeanna, I absolutely love your projects and creativity! Beautiful finish, as always! I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!
Simply beautiful stitcheries, Jeanna--your work is exquisite;)))
I hope your trip is safe and you have a wonderful time of it
hugs, Julierose
Oh Jeanna, you had a good stitching week - all while getting ready for your vacation. Your Summer Stamp Sampler is gorgeous. Your stitching is beautiful and pops on the gorgeous fabric you are using. I adore Salute To Abigail. I do need to start this project once I finish my other BBD stitch. Safe travels and have fun!
Thank you so much, Melody. I appreciate your encouraging words. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you sweet friend. I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
Love the summer stamp project, the birdhouse is so cute. Lovely finish. I have actually got my block done for sewcialites this week. :)
Have a safe and fun get-away!!!
Beautiful work once again, Jeanna! Melisa's stamps are so cute and fun. I love them! I really like the 2 dates on Salute to Abigail. Have a wonderful vacation!
Abigail is a lovely finish Jeanna and the two dates balance beautifully, a much better record than someone else's name. xx
I have noticed the blogs not showing up....but they also don't show up on my "blogs i read" gadget either.
it is very frustrating.
These stamps are fun to look at. Hope you have a wonderful vacation.
