Block #16 is Florabelle Block by Heather Briggs of My Sew Quilty Life.
I didn’t have pre-printed foundation paper to create the square-in-a-square segments, so I went online and found a free template offered by Meadow Mist Designs. I pulled out a pack of Carol Doak’s Foundation Paper and printed off just what I needed.
Block #19 is Pinwheel Dash Block by Bev McCullough of Flamingo Toes.
I have the stripes going in the same direction…but some of them are waving!
We ran our errands and
got all our food shopping done over the weekend. Mom came over for dinner Friday and Sunday nights. I did the cooking on Sunday and made stuffed yellow bell peppers and a dessert we only have during the summer...blackberry and blueberry cobbler.
I will see you on Friday, July 3rd when I'll be back with a cross-stitch update.
See you soon,

I'm enjoying the Sewcialites parade! Oh that cobbler, and I love the combo of ice cream and whipped cream. Bring it on!
I want to come to your house for dessert!!
Those are both pretty blocks! It's nice to know that Meadow Mist offers paper pieced designs for square in a square blocks. When I needed them for a recent project, I drew them out myself! Your cobbler looks delicious!
Two more great blocks - the pinwheel one is fun. xx
I have done some paper piecing, but I don’t love it. I am sure I could successfully do a square in a square with it though. Ha ha But for me it would be easier to just do normal piecing.
Great blocks. I would like to see a layout using just block 16.
Two more terrific blocks! Paper piecing is a great way to have accurate piecing of a block! Your dessert looked delicious!
Dear Jeanna, your blocks are gorgeous.
Your cobbler looks delicious 😋 and refreshing.
Thank you, Linda. The cobbler didn't last very long. So...maybe another one soon?
Blackberry and blueberry cobbler sounds delicious. Add some yummy toppings and it must taste like heaven.
Hi GM! Yes, the cobbler was delicious. Usually, hubby not only makes the whipped cream topping, but also the ice cream. Unfortunately, rain kept him from being able to work the maker outside. Oh well, next time!
Your blocks are adorable, Jeanna and how wonderful you were able to find the Meadow Mist template. It makes sewing those blocks a lot easier. Stuffed bell peppers and a cobbler! Yum Yum! Blackberry cobblers have always been a favorite summer time treat here too. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
Sorry I just saw this post! Blogger is still screwed up. Your blocks look great! I like to paper piece when piecing is tricky. So much easier and so accurate! Your desserts look delicious!
Perfect day! With cobbler. Yes please and thank you.
