Happy Monday, Friends!
The weekend was absolutely
wonderful. We had beautiful weather and spent a lot of time both days with my
mom. My husband took us to a very nice restaurant for lunch on Saturday. We did
a bit of shopping afterwards. Then he made a delicious dinner for us on Sunday.
I didn’t take photos because we were too busy enjoying our time together.
I hope you had a lovely
weekend as well.
I have three quilt-along blocks
to share with you today.
The first is for Fat
Quarters by the Dozen. Release number 8 is the Gardenia block.
I would love a king-sized quilt made like the cover photo. But…the quarter-square triangles in the middle challenged me and the block was very time consuming. Maybe I’ll consider it one day.
I’m using fabrics from several
Lori Holt collections for the FQBTD quilt-along.
The next two blocks are
for Sewcialites 3.
Block 11 is “Snuggle Patch
Block” designed by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.
Block 12 is “Shoo Fly
Block” designed by Sharon Holland.
I’m using a fat-eighth bundle of the Lyda Rose collection by Bunny Hill Designs for the Sewcialites 3 quilt-along. Kimberly Jolly from the Fat Quarter Shop is doing the same, so I am copying her fabric placement.
I’ve completed several
more Four Patch Fun blocks as well. I need to start thinking about a layout for
them.
I’ll be back on Friday
with a cross-stitch update. Hope you
have a great week and I’ll see you soon.

Those are pretty blocks, especially the Gardenia block! Glad you had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was quiet and peaceful while it rained with lightning and thunder - perfect for me!
Sounds like you had a perfect weekend. Your blocks are sweet as can be.
Nice that you had a lovely Mothers Day. Have fun sewing and cross stitching all week!!
Thank you, Granny Marigold! I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day as well.
Beautiful blocks, Jeanna. I king sized quilt with the Gardenia blocks would be beautiful. You are moving right along on all of your QAL's . Have you decided how many blocks you are going to piece for the Four Patch Fun? I am still working on mine as well. Have a wonderful week, Jeanna.
Sounds like a lovely weekend - great blocks. xx
The Gardenia block is pretty, but I can tell it is time consuming.
Good work!
I like the Gardenia block, too! Are the center pieces for the star pretty small? That can be finicky to work with! Pretty, sweet colors in your Sewcialites blocks, too.
The blocks are so pretty! I know what you mean about small pieces being time consuming. But the blocks look great! It sounds like you had a nice Mother’s Day.
I love that you were having too much fun to stop and take photos. That's the best. LOOOOOOVE the fabric here. How fun is this? I hope you get to make that big quilt for yourself.
Recently bought some cheap fabric online just to see and it's sooooooo soooooo thin. Then a few of the fabrics when pressed change to darker. Then go back. It's odd.
Wishing you a fun day. I'll be back later in the week to catch up on the rest of your adventures. Just getting back to blogging after a short break.
Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.
Thank you, Ivy. I've had fabric get darker when pressed. Maybe the iron is too hot for it?
A king sized quilt in that pattern would be fabulous. Nice looking Churn Dash blocks too.
