Oops! I am a day late in reporting my quilt along progress. I started a machine embroidery project on Sunday and forgot to post my recent quilt blocks.
First,
Sewcialites 3 block #14 is Criss-Cross Star Block by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet
Co.
Another
quick and easy block.
Next
is Fat Quarters by the Dozen release #9, the Halo block.
This
block measures 18-1/2” square. This is a big block but also very fun to make.
Here
are some bags I’m making for an upcoming event…more on this later.
I’ll
leave you with some photos of recent visitors.
Spotted
Eastern Towhee
He
likes to hang out with Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal.
Have
a great week and I’ll see you soon.

I love your fabrics on both blocks. I have a folder on my desktop with all kinds of Criss Cross star blocks, so that one is a favorite! Do you feed the birdies?
That is a big block, but so cute. Your bags look so neat!
I love star blocks, and those are both beauties! We enjoy seeing wild turkeys here, too. We were hearing a spotted towhee in a tree near our house the other day, but even with binoculars we couldn't spot him. I'm sure the neighbors were wondering what we were doing!
Nice that the Cardinals get along with the Towhee. They're both such pretty birds.
Those bags look great - love the 'tassells'. Thanks for sharing the bird pictures, always nice to see something we don't get. xx
There are usually a couple of blue jays on the ground as well. I can never get the camera out in time to get a good photo.
Those two blocks are fun. I really like the big one.
Nice work on those bags.
Those blocks look wonderful! I love your bags too. They'll make nice gifts for someone. I hear so many birds but never actually see them. Glad you took that picture!
What lovely quilt blocks you've pieced, Jeanna;))) the colors are so sweet and Spring-ey...nice work hugs, Julierose
Dear Jeanna, your photos are beautiful, and your quilt blocks are lovely! I really love the colours and patterns.
Great blocks and you chose such pretty fabric.
Love seeing the quilt updates. I am still looking for an easy "learn to quilt" kit. I may have found one at a library, but need to get there to see if any are left. Have a fantastic weekend.
Thank you, Linda. I am having a lot of fun with these quilt-alongs, but I am getting ready for them to finish and the quilts to come together.
Thank you! Fat Quarter Shop has a set of tutorials on YouTube for beginning quilting. You may find those helpful. Enjoy your day and weekend ahead.
