Floss Friday -- Cross Stitch Update

Happy Floss Friday, Friends!

It has been a good stitchy week. I have a finish, though not fully finished project, to share.

Before getting to the “FO”, let me give you a weekly update on Melisa’s  (Pinker n Punkin' Quilting and Stitching) Summer Stamp Sampler.

Pink Lemonade is this week’s release.

Melisa even shared a recipe for pink lemonade on her blog here.

I must hurry and finish the last three boxes as we only have a few more weeks left of this stitch-along.

There was a good bit of progress made on Salute to Abigail by Blackbird Designs.

You may remember, I had to ‘frog’ and re-stitch a good portion of the border TWICE. I think I have it now.

All the motifs are complete, and I am working on the vine in the border to make sure it matches before adding the flowers. After that I will add the words and date. I’m thinking of doing a bit of recharting. I'll remove Abigail’s name and add “July 4, 1776” in that spot and then change the other side to “July 4, 2026.” What do you think?

I finished stitching the last Patriotic Pear.

Red, White and Blue

Patriotic Pears by Annie Beez Folkart

Now to get the courage to actually sew them into pears… That attempt won’t happen until the end of June, at the earliest.

Time to put the stitching aside for the weekend. Fat Quarter Shop releases another Sewcialites 3 block today. That means some sewing will need to happen. Then the plan is to do some house cleaning.

What is on your agenda for the weekend? Tell me all the things!

I’ll be back Monday with a quilting update, and who knows what else. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.

See you soon.

You did do a lot of stitching, I am impressed you are keeping up with Melisa's. I have not even started. Just can't get in the mood to cross stitch. Those pears will be so cute.

Your stitching pieces are beautiful. Love the Salute to Abigail. I can’t wait to see the pears.

You got so much done this week! I like the idea of adding the 2 July dates to your Abigail piece. The pears will be fine, I can tell! I'll be working on my Whisker N Catnip quilt this weekend. My blocks are almost done! Enjoy the weekend!

Your summer stamps are looking lovely as is your Abigail - what a great idea to record bloth the dates. We are having the roof of our conservatory insulated on Tuesday so a good bit of my weekend is going to be spent moving out furniture and emptying bookshelves! Removing spiders too no doubt! Have a good weekend. xx

The Summer Sampler is so cute, Jeanna, and Abigail is beautiful. I like the idea to change it to July 4, 2026. The pears are really cute. I'm working on one of my UFOs this weekend. I should do some house cleaning too, but that can wait! lol

You did get a lot of stitching done this week, Jeanna! The pink lemonade stamp looks great, and so does Abigail. I like your idea to stitch the dates on it, too. Those pears are really neat! The end of June sounds like a good time to finish them. Have a wonderful Saturday!
