Happy Monday, Friends!
Fat Quarter Shop released block number 3 in this year’s Sewcialites quilt along.
Cabin Life Block is designed by Robin Pickens.Again, I am making the 6” blocks using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda. And much to my surprise, the block actually measures 6-1/2” unfinished. Go figure!
I’ve mentioned in the past how my husband took early retirement in 2017. Since then, he has been the chief cook. He enjoys it and is much more adventurous than I. I am the baker and he enjoys that as well 😊
I told him the other day that I would commit to cooking at least one evening a weekend to give him a break. Sunday evening’s offering was grilled Cuban pork tenderloin with black beans and rice.
I also made a lemon butter cake for dessert. I didn’t get to everything I had hoped to over the weekend, but it was still productive and enjoyable.See you soon,

I'm quite impressed with your dinner! Did you "wo-man" the grill? That lemon butter cake looks scrumptious. If I let my Hubs be the chief cook we would have pasta or rice and butter in every imaginable way. He is great with the griddle and the grill, but not the healthiest chef. ;)
Nice job on the quilt block.
The supper looks delicious. A tenderloin is a nice piece of meat to cook. It always does well as long as you dont overcook it
My husband started doing all the cooking when he retired before me as well! He is also more adventurous than me….I follow recipes, he uses them as merely suggestions, lol. I’d love the recipe for the lemon butter cake….sounds delicious! I love your cabin block :)
Dinner sounds yummy--my DH makes soups [mostly], spaghetti, tacos, and mean scrambled eggs...
I think your 3rd block in the SAL came out so well--nice work...

That is a sweet house block, Jeanna - love your color choices! My husband retired before me, but didn't take over the cooking - he took over the clean-up. I decided that was a deal I could live with! Your dinner does look yummy!
Wow your hubby cooks, mine didn't take over that chore when he retired, LOL. He does do the grilling tho'.
Dear Jeanna, your pork loin meal looks scrumptious 😋
So nice to have this cooked by your husband.
I absolutely love ❤️ your taste in fabrics and patterns.
Cute little house. Love the fabrics. Dinner looks delicious. yum.
Happy Quilting!
How perfect it must be to have your husband doing most of the cooking. I'm trying to get my husband interested in cooking but I fear it is too late :)
I like the Cabin Life Block a lot💗🌷💚🌷💙🌷
You cooked a great meal. Since my husband retired, he enjoys cooking more than I do and I just let him make whatever he likes! I do all the cleaning so he can do all the cooking! Your block came out great!!
That's one cute and pretty house block! I love it. My DH does most of the cooking, mostly plain basic dinners. If I want something special, he leaves it to me to make. Your dinner and cake look delicious.
Cute little block - always a win when they turn out the right size! xx
How handy to have a husband who cooks!
Love the house block
