Fat Quarter Shop published block number 6 of the Sewcialites 3 quilt along last Friday. Window Seat Block was designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic.
I meant to flip the bottom row so that the blue block was on the opposite side of the one in the top row. I’m quite sure I will fix it in the future.Linda at Texas Quilt Gal told me she is thinking about making the Spacious Skies Quilt by Lori Holt. I shared in an earlier post that I am going to make that quilt soon. I just wanted to make a test block first. Linda asked me how I liked Lori’s specialty rulers that are included in the kit and I thought I would give them a try this weekend so I could let her know. Much to my surprise, the rulers were not in the box. I checked the ‘kit contents’ and they were most definitely on the list. I called the store where I bought the kit last June, expecting too much time had passed and they wouldn’t be able to help. Well, the store manager checked the one remaining kit they have, and it is also missing the rulers. She said they would contact Riley Blake and let them know. She expects RB will send them the missing rulers and I should have them in a couple of weeks. We shall see…
In addition to the
Sewcialites block, I also fully finished some older cross-stitch pieces. I’ll
have those to show you on Friday.
I hope you have a great
week and I’ll see you soon.

I probably wouldn’t fix that block unless it bothered me. If it is going to bother you, then fix it.
Lovely block--I would just leave it, also--with all the others in the mix it won't stand out I am sure...
I hope you get those rulers that were supposed to be included...
Hugs, Julierose
That pile of completed blocks are sure pretty! I'm glad that the shop is righting the error through Riley Blake. I look forward to hearing what you think when the rulers arrive.
Gosh, a good reminder to always open and check quilt kits as soon as you get them. I’m glad the shop is working to get the rulers for you.
That's a pretty block, Jeanna! I love the fabric line you're using for that project. I would probably switch that bottom row around, too - it should be an easy fix. Frustrating that the specialty ruler that was supposed to be in the kit wasn't there - I hope they can provide it for you.
I get it on switching the pieces on that pretty block. Although I know that others wouldn't notice, if it bothers me I'm going to fix it - lol! How interesting about the rulers! FQS seems to be a pretty stand-up place, so I hope it comes through. I'm still debating that kit. . .
Darling block, Jeanna. Such lovely fabrics you are working with. I hope that you receive your rulers soon. I am sure you are anxious to get started in the near future.
I absolutely love the block!
Good news that you'll be getting that missing ruler. Someone wasn't checking to make sure the kits all had the proper bits.
That's a cute block and lovely fabrics. If it had been me, I know it had bothered me and I had switched the pieces. If it doesn't bother you, leave it as it is. Glad you called the shop about the missing rulers, I hope you'll get them soon.
I expect you will change the block...its a simple change after all and now that you have seen it you cant unsee it.
Good luck for the rulers.
Your blocks are growing nicely and looking good. Lets hope those rulers turn up as the quilt looks like a fun one to work on. xx
Thank you, Linda. I'll love it more once I fix it ;)
I should have checked the kit myself as soon as I got it. It is something I usually do when I purchase a kit or bundle. Ugh!
Your block looks great! I really love that fabric you used. I'm glad you'll get the rulers soon. I would end up fixing those fabrics although it looks fine the way it is.
I do hope you get them. Love the blocks. I started using Creative Grids rulers and so far, all very, very, very nice. Got one of their cutting mats as well. It's stinky when out of the package however very nice as well.
