FNwF, Slow Sunday Stitching, Sew Along Updates and Cross Stitch

Hello, Friends!

Here we are in February. It seems to me that the days are flying by.

Here is a quick update on this past week’s sewing and stitching.

I completed Lori Holt’s Scrappiness Is Happiness block #14 which is named Spare Squares Block.  It was super easy and all of the pieces were leftover bits from previous blocks, hence the name.

I then finished the Sewcialites 2 Block #14 named Enchant. This was another easy block, which was a nice break after last week’s challenge. It was designed by April Rosenthal of Prairie Grass Patterns.

As a reminder, I am stitching the 9” blocks using Cinnamon & Cream fabrics by Fig Tree & Co.

I took an inventory of my cross stitch projects and a status of each…maybe I’ll share those numbers with you soon, but let’s just say it was very humbling! I’ve put a little plan in place to try to finish up all the cross stitch projects I’ve started.  My idea is to have one focus piece which gets the majority of my stitching time and then a WIP/UFO which I will stitch on about one hour each day.

I took the opportunity to work on my oldest WIP Friday night when Cheryll hosted Friday Night with Friends.  I spent the evening Zoom stitching with friends and working on Irony by Hands on Design.

I forgot to take a before photo but I can tell you that I had only stitched from the top down to the words ‘opposite of.’

Then Sunday I Zoom stitched with another group and made some really good progress on my focus piece which is the Red Bird Sampler by With Thy Needle & Thread.

This was my Slow Sunday Stitching piece so I’m linking up with
Kathy’s Quilts.

It sure feels good to have a plan in place for all of my crafting. I feel I am more productive when I set goals and plan my time.

Did you have any time to be creative this weekend? Tell me what you got up to.

Have a great week!

Your Irony cross stitch is looking great, as are your blocks for the quilt top.

I spent the weekend sewing time finishing the quilting and starting the binding on a baby quilt. I just need to sew down the binding and it will be finished. So Yaay me!

Pretty blocks Jeanna! Love your cross-stitching projects. Great plan to make progress on your other cross-stitch projects. During the weekend I worked on a small UFO, made some pink blocks, and stitched a little bit on 'Over the River'.

I love your Spare Squares block! All your stitching looks so pretty. I looked at my needlework container last night and then didn't get anything out to work on. You are inspiring me, but you need to be more firm with me - lol!

Your quilt blocks really came out so lovely!! :)))
I love that "Irony" saying --good that you've gotten a plan in place,

I finished quilting my last big quilt "Sunny Days" yesterday...now to finish her up!! I have no idea what I will be making in the future--I've never really made smaller items like bags etc; so new territory for me, I think...Maybe
re-explore applique...with big pieces...for learning...

Good for you setting forth a plan. I finished up a UFO this weekend. If I can get photos today I will get it blogged.

Love your blocks! And "Irony" made me laugh - I had forgotten that one - thanks for sharing - ;))

This weekend I finished quilting "Bee Happy" - it's not my best work - but it's DONE - ;))

You have made great progress on your projects. I love the laundry cross stitch. I’ve just started back on cross stitch, having picked up a 30 year old UFO. It will be nice to finally finish it.

Having a plan does help to finish or move along of of our projects. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy.

Love both your blocks - especially the square on - a great scrappy project.

I find having a list helps keep me on track. I have a "To Do" and a "Make Progress on" list - twelve items on each - hopefully one a month. On the To Do list I added a "hopeful completion date".
But, I also have another very long list of "the other projects....

Well, once again I forgot the FNSWF! I need to put it on my calendar. I have been trying to plan my XS and quilting but I still have too many XS's on the go. I also have quilting WIPs but I am working on those as I have a BOM starting this month. I do feel like you that I am more productive when I have specific goals.
Your Red Bird Sampler is going to be gorgeous when you're finished. The laundry room XS is adorable! Enjoy all your lovely projects.
