It's Been A Minute

…or two since my last post.  Well, maybe a bit longer than that so I thought I would dust off Slammin’ the Screen Door and make one more attempt at blogging.

My lack of posting here is not indicative of my crafting activity at all.  I first created a post that listed all of my WIPS, Flimsies and Finishes since January of 2019 but it quickly became way too big.  Honestly, the number of photos that need editing is more than I have the bandwidth for at the moment. 😊

I’ll start tonight with my current quilt WIPs and one finish.  Over the course of the next week or so I will give you an update on the rest, which also includes my new(ish) hobby.

Current Quilt WIPs:

WIP: Bloom-Topia
This is Fat Quarter Shop’s fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Central and South Texas.  They release patterns on the 1st and 15th of each month (February thru July).  You can read more about it on their website here.

Fabric is Summer Sweet by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics

These are my blocks for releases 1 through 6

WIP: Witch’s Night Out
This was another Fat Quarter Shop quilt-along from last year.  I was keeping up just fine until we needed to evacuate for Hurricane Dorian.  Everything was packed away and it took me a while (forever!) to find the interest to work on it again.

Red Thread Studio is currently hosting a UFO Challenge on their Facebook page so hopefully, this will be a flimsy when the challenge ends at end of the month.  The backing fabric doesn’t ship until May, as soon as I get it – and our Shelter in Place order is lifted – I’ll be heading to the longarm quilter.

Fabric is All Hallow’s Eve by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics.

A Quilt Finish:

Lincoln’s Baby Quilt
A family member became a grandmother for the first time last September.  I made the baby’s first quilt…

As a treat for sticking with me, here is a new recipe I recently found.

Lemon Brownies…they were amazing.  You can find the recipe at Jenny Can Cook.  Let me know if you bake them and what you think.

See you soon 😊

Good seing a post from you.

I have the Witches Night Out pattern but have not started it. I have used the fabrics in another quilt though. I ordered enough for both quilts and hope it works out.

I have not made any of the blocks from the Fat Quarter Make a Wish quilt project but did donate. Such a good charity.

Good to see you post again. I need to do the same thing. Your blocks look so nice and I was thrilled to see your Halloween blocks together on IG. I love that quilt.

Fig Tree really does know how to do Halloween! I was tempted with the fabrics and that BOM... but resisted. Love the Bloom Topia one too....nice happy colors and a great way to test your skills on some different piecing techniques!
