Coming Unraveled...

Remember the Granny Stripe Afghan I mentioned here?

This was to be a leisure project for me…no rules, no deadline…just something to do for FUN.

Well, I was having fun…until my pattern repeated a couple of times, then I realized two things:
1)    It is too wide for my purpose, and
2)  I didn’t like the variegated yarn I placed in the middle of the cream yarn.  It just didn’t “go” so…. it had to GO!

Guess you know what I’ll be doing during the Super Bowl on Sunday J

Anyone with a ball winder want to come over?

I’ll be back to share a…get ready for it…a FINISH!  I know, right?  Just need a little sunshine to get a decent picture.  Weather man can’t decide what tomorrow will bring, always a mystery.

Have a great weekend J

Thankfully you can unravel what displeases you with this afghan project. It looked really pretty before, but now you have me curious to how you've perfected the pattern rows. I'm sure it will be a beautiful reveal!

Are you telling me you unraveled the whole thing? Wow, you are quite the lady :) I am eagerly awaiting the final product! Have a great weekend, friend. Hugs!

Good for you for unravelling the crochet, Jeanna. I think some of us - hat would be me - keep going and going telling ourselves that it'll be "okay". Now I try not to go with just "okay". If I don't like it, I unravel/unpick it!

I hope your mysterious weekend weather turns out well! :o)

I have unraveled a few projects that just didn't pass..but that's the beauty of crochet. So easy to frog it all out.

Enjoy the game.

Oh my goodness -- I thought it was gorgeous but you are the one who has to be happy!!! Go Broncos.

Oh my, unraveling is like unsewing. Wish I lived closer I'd be over with hot chocolate and cookies to make the job go easier. Will look for the finish.

Ugh! Although I don't work with yarn, I do know that sinking feeling one gets when you realize that things just aren't working out and you have to rip, rip, rip! I also have friends who do work with yarn and have done lots of unraveling. Kudos for being so brave!

Hee...now I don't feel so bad having ripped mine at least three times before I was happy! Good thing you don't have kitties like we do - ripping and winding can be very challenging ;>) Mine is finally done - just waiting for a sunny day to get some good photos!
Cheers!

Oh, I thought it looked great, but I guess you are the one who has to like it! I do have a ball winder, but guess I'm seeing this too late...

Ah! bummer! I liked it but if it wasn't working it is a whole lot easier to undo than quilt blocks.
