Hello and Happy Friday!!
It is good to be home. We took a 10-day cruise through New England and Canada. It was absolutely beautiful, we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
The ship departed Baltimore, cruised down the Chesapeake to the Atlantic.
The Star Spangled Banner Flag House
Where Mary Young Pickergills sewed the Star
Spangled Banner in 1813, which flew over
Fort McHenry
We made stops in Boston, Massachusetts…
St. John and St. Martins, New Brunswick…
We walked along the beach to get a look at caves
that have been naturally formed from the Bay of Fundy tides
I'll have to share more about Bay of Fundy in a future post
Sydney, Nova Scotia…
Halifax and Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia
I started a new cross-stitch project on the drive to Baltimore and finished it on the drive home.
Hello Autumn is a free chart from Primrose Cottage Stitches. Well, it’s free if you subscribe to their newsletter. I fully finished it this week by simply placing it in a frame.
This is stitched on 28-count linen in the color Parchment by Zweigart. I used most of the called-for colors but replaced Caterpillar with Blackbird. Both flosses are Classic Colorworks.
While I was in the finishing mood, I took “Give Thanks” out of the under-the-bed-box and mounted it on sticky board. I then pulled a scrap piece of Lori Holt fabric to make a background. I want to layer the pieces on a wooden pumpkin and top it off with a bow and covered button. I’ve decided it needs some trim and I currently do not have anything that will work. Mom and I are planning to trip to Hobby Lobby this weekend, so I hope to find something there.
Give Thanks is designed by Annie, The Proper Stitcher. I used 40-count linen in the color Chocolate Milk from Fabrics by Stephanie. I completed the stitching on October 18, 2024.
Since being home, I caught up on American Sampler by Crocette a gogo’. I’m working on October’s assignment now.
I’m looking forward to walking around the lake and seeing the pretty fall colors in the trees. I’m also curious to see if these guys are there again this year…
My plan for this evening is to start the binding process on BloomTopia.
What are your plans for the coming days? I hope it is something you enjoy.
I TRIED...Linking up with Alycia for Finished (or Not!) Friday For some reason it wouldn't work for me :(
See you soon,

Jeanna, your photos are beautiful and captivating. It looks like an amazing time with good food, glorious views and the Titanic has always fascinated me for decades. I have read several books and seen documentaries about it.
I have cousins living in Annapolis Royal and Halifax.
Thank you 😊 so much for sharing.
Those lobster rolls are making me hungry!
What a lovely trip you took--as a "foodie" I was salivating over those " lobsta" rolls (my uncle was a fisherman off the coast of Maine and there it is "lobsta" hahaha) . thanks for sharing your adventures with us hugs, Julierose
Hi, thank you for sharing your photos and I enjoyed reading about your maritime adventure. What a wonderful way to travel too. Meanwhile lovely finishes there and I'm intrigued by your soft finish of Give Thanks. Really love how it suits perfectly. Your meal looks delicious too. Happy Stitching from me!
From the photos I would say you had a fantastic time! Love that you quickly stitched up your Autumn piece!! I am getting closer to a finish.
You visited our East Coast, something we haven't done. We did quite a bit of traveling in our camper van but found the 3000 mile trip across the country daunting. Well, I found it daunting. DH would gladly have undertaken it. I was never as dedicated to travel as he was, preferring my home and garden.
Great pictures!!!
Thanks for sharing your photos. They're so fun to see. It looks like another great trip. I love your finishes too! I think you got a lot done for being on a trip! I'm planning on making more blocks for my purple round of the Facets quilt. I brought my regular machine in for it's yearly cleaning so I'm using my backup machine. Not liking it but it's okay for now! Have a great weekend!
What a wonderful trip, Jeanna. Thank you for sharing your photos. I'm not a big fan of seafood, but the lobster rolls look really yummy. Lovely cross stitching projects, finishes and progress. How fun to use a wooden pumpkin for the stitchery! Those ghosts make me smile, so cute. Plans for the coming days; continue working on Over the River..
Your cruise looks like it was wonderful, Jeanna! I think that's one I would enjoy. Fenway Park would be so interesting to visit and lobster rolls - yummy! We're doing some more fall yard clean-up this weekend, but I'm hoping to get some sewing time in, too.
Such a great trip and I want a lobster roll! Love the little Autumn stitchery and the pumpkin is going to look great. Enjoy your weekend. We have my stepdaughter coming to lunch today. xx
Loved your photos! You and your hubs must be lobster roll aficionados - what determined the "best" of the ones you had? Love the look of that cave! Your Hello Autumn is so cute, I am subscribed to the newsletter but I don't remember that pattern.
