Hard to believe that it has been a whole year
since Val began her 3rd annual piggy bank challenge. The name has now changed to Piggy Bank
Savings = Money for Quilting Challenge.
The goal was to save our loose change over the
span of one year, count it up and share how we plan to use the ‘found’ money.
Well, I’m a debit card kind of consumer so I do
not typically collect a lot of change.
And since I work from home now, I’m not eating in the company café with
an opportunity to use cash.
However, I was pleasantly surprised when I counted
out a whopping $78.35!
I’ll tuck this away for another couple of weeks
then use it for the Florida Lighthouses and Bridges shop hop that begins on
July 16th.
Stay tuned for those
adventures!
Oh! Val is hosting another piggy bank
challenge. Check out her blog for sign
ups beginning next week and a linky party where you can see how others fared
with their savings.

You did wayyyyy better than me and I use cash!! LOL!!! Even my husband admitted I don't really go anywhere ... and he does do the grocery shopping so gathers change from that. :) :) The shop hop will be the perfect way to treat yourself as there always seems to be something enticing on those! ENJOY!!!
WOW neat "found" cash..perfect for your shop hopping...NiCE!! Hugs, julierose
Have fun on your shop hop. It's sort of like getting free fabric with this challenge money.
Way to go with your savings. The shop hop sounds fun, enjoy!
Ha, I am one of those weirdos that likes to give exact change. So I have a coin purse in my pocket and extra change goes in it for paying "next time" - i have done that for as long as I can remember.
What a good idea to save your savings for a shop hop. I love those. So fun to see how different each shop merchandizes. (Love all the choices, too.) Have fun. Remember to take pictures and share.
Hugs
I've been saving change too and need to get mine counted. Maybe there is enough there to buy a new outfit for work! We'll see! Have fun spending yours. :)
Hi Jeanna
I'm with you on the debit card syndrome. I rarely have actual money in my purse. But I do manage to save change. I put them in pill bottles. One pill bottle usually holds about $10. Can't say that I would save it for quilting supplies because I just get what I want when I want it if I can. BUT, I like to go to a large flea market near us at least once a year and always take my pill bottles, lol.
xx, Carol
I almost totally use my debit card for everything. Last year, I used cash to buy coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon almost daily during the week, but I cut back this year, so my savings weren't as much, but I still had fun. And I'm sure you will too.
