Making Progress

On a roll may be a bit too optimistic but I have been able to stitch a little each evening this week.  I would love to either sew or knit every day this year but we all know that isn’t going to happen J

This week I completed two more blocks for Sherri’s A Quilting Life BOM.

I have three more blocks to go along with the sashing, corner stones and border.

It would be nice to have this ready to go to the long arm quilter on the 13th when I take my 2009 Saturday Sampler.  If you missed it, you can see it here.

Carole at From My Carolina Home is collecting blocks for quilts she is making and sending to the Ventura Modern Quilt Guild.  The guild is donating quilts to victims of the Thomas Fires.  You can read more about the effort and get the block pattern here.

My blocks…

Thanks Val for introducing me to this effort.

This weekend will have me taking down all of my Christmas decorations and cleaning.  Fingers crossed that I can sneak in a little more sewing.

Linking up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict's Can I Get a Whoop Whoop?

Have a lovely weekend J

Jeanna, your blocks are pretty. :) I want to get our Christmas put away this weekend, too. At minimum, all the trees have to be squared away, as I'm supremely tired of shooing a certain black cat away from pilfering ornaments and chewing on lights. . . ::funny/not-funny:: I'm curious! Is the door on your headline photo your own? Super cool

Your BOM's really look good. And really like that long table. Wish my dining room would hold one that large. I put the extension in for holidays, but not enough room to leave in. Your blocks for the fire quilts are nice too. I'm send some to her as well. Hoping she gets plenty.

You are so very welcome. I'm curious how all our blocks will look together. My year's off to a productive start too...hoping we both continue. :)

Nice Blocks. I especially like the one in the first picture. It's very eye appealing. I have become accustomed to hand stitching each afternoon and am kind of lost if I don't have the opportunity to do so. Now I need to extend that to machine sewing as well.

Thanks so much for the mention!! The blocks are starting to come in, and yours look fantastic. It is amazing all the different prints, yet they are looking wonderful all together. Thanks for helping with this project!!

Your blocks look fantastic! I've just been saving the patterns to the blocks until I have time. Love your donation block. I love scrappy quilts and will definitely squeeze in time to make these. The fires in So CA was not that far from us.

Your blocks look wondeful. You've chosen some great fabrics. Hope you squeezed in the stitching time.

What fabric line are you using for the blocks from A Quilting Life? Reminds me Fig Tree fabrics.

Blocks are looking good. I aim for at least 15 minutes of crafting a day. I'd say I succeed 5 out of 7 days a week. I keep a log and it helps keep me on track.

Great blocks! Beautiful fabrics and so crisp and neat! I'd sure like to get in a little bit of sewing each day too...if I may be a bit greedy... I'd LOVE to be able to earn a living sewing even more! :-)

Your BOM project is pretty, Jeanna! It has such a nice autumn vibe going, a perfect foil to the 2009 Saturday Sampler's cool blues that make me think of a lovely, soothing pool in the summer.

Lovely blocks. Each design is so pretty. How pretty your blocks look all together on the table. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could stitch or knit every day.

You never cease to amaze me with all your beautiful projects! I have been looking back over your past few posts and trying to catch up. I am really wanting to try harder to blog and visit more this year. I'm home sick today and using this time to visit. :) I hope you are doing well...have a happy week!

Hugs, Vicky

Just stopping by to see what you've been us to. Hopefully you've been able to meet your goal of a little stitching each day. :)
