Happy New Year my crafty friends. I truly hope that you all had a wonderful
holiday season and that 2017 is going to be happy, healthy and prosperous for
you.
My Navy son is home for the new year. He returns to Japan on January 14th
so I’m not spending very much time being creative but I am having a great time
with him here.
I have so much to share with you but I’m not going
to do it in just one post. I owe you an
update on some things from the last post…waaaay back in November. YEESH!
But today I want to share about my plans for 2017.
I’m not one to make resolutions and I haven’t had
much success over the last couple of years on my personal goals. This year,
though, I am turning things around.
I’m going to start with participating in two
monthly linky parties – that I'm sure will help me bust some UFOs. The first one is One Monthly Goal (OMG) hosted by Patty at Elm Street Quilts. The second one is 17 UFOs in 2017 hosted by Meredithe at pomegranate and chintz.
Today I’m going to share what I plan to accomplish
for the January OMG and then tomorrow I’ll share my 17 UFOs in 2017. I still have to take photos for that one.
This is something that I want to finish piecing,
quilting, binding and labeling for enjoyment in February. I’ll share the finish (YES! I must finish) at
the end of the month and include all of the details.
It is an overcast dreary day in southeast Florida
today. Could it mean we may get a break
in the heat? It certainly hasn’t felt
like winter here, even by our standards.
Hope the sun is shining on you today…

Enjoying family is much more important than any crafting. Have a wonderful new year.
I find myself always wanting a gorgeous piece to celebrate each season and never seem to finish in time. I'm still working on my fall quilt! Best of wishes! Looking forward to seeing yours to completion! http://quiltlovefordomesticfelicity.blogspot.com/
Yahooo...it's so great to see ya back! I remember winters like yours when I lived in Arizona. (Probably why I love snow!! LOL!) Anyhoo...you Valentine project looks like fun! ENJOY! And....contiunue to enjoy the time with your son. How wonderful he got time to come home.
Looks like you have picked a great project, have fun with your son!!
So nice to see a post from you! Goals... not always easy to reach, are they?

Your OMG project for January is just darling!
Wishing you huge success on all your creative goals for 2017!
Can't wait to see your beautiful finishes.
Love your OMG blocks. It's always nice to spend time with family. Enjoy time with your son. Can't wait to see what you've been up to. Thanks for the UFO links. I'll have to check it out because this year I am going to literally make scrap quilts to use up old fabrics and finish my UFOS.
Looking forward to watching your UFOs get busted this year! Oh, and about that weather - hang on, a blast of winter is headed your way. The latest front is moving through our area over the next 24 hours and there are even predictions of sleet or possibly snow for the northern parishes. I'm sure some of that winter chill will last all the way through to Florida!
can't wait to see your valentine quilt! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal.
How fun! I love the fussy cut block centers.
We had a short "winter" cold spell, then it got warm again. Now we have potential snow this weekend (I hope not!) I am not a fan of snow (or cold weather) -so no snow would make me happy even though it would disappoint many of my friends.
I shall live vicariously through your 2017 achievements! :o) That's super cute and deserving of being DONE for Happy Heart's Day!
Happy New Year! How nice to have your son home for a visit. The time will fly by.
I have a small Valentine project in the works. Good time to be working on one.
Your mini valentine is adorable.
