Hands 2 Help Charity Quilt Challenge Progress and A Comfort Quilt

H2H Charity Quilt Challenge is hosted by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  Sarah is so generous with her talent and time.  Check out her blog to read about all of her charitable efforts.

This is the second quilt I am donating to the H2H Challenge this year.  I’m calling it Summer Sampler.  I love the happy fabrics.

I should have given it another press before taking the photo

I’m sending this child’s quilt to Layers of Hope – Quilting 911.

You can read about this and other H2H charities here.

My plan was to make a third quilt for the challenge but as it turns out, I have a close family member undergoing chemo and radiation treatment for lung cancer.  So, my friend and I teamed up to make him a comfort quilt.

Very simple but oh so comfy!

I’ve been busy sewing but not blogging…hope to catch up soon J

Enjoy your week!

  2. Lovely quilts. I have never made a quilt, but am working on embroidered blocks now...keys and locks for my daughter. Another learning process for me. Hopefully, I will become adept at piecing blocks and be able to contribute to our local Linus Project.

Sorry you have a family member dealing with cancer. My niece just went through that treatment will unreal complications and now has a clean bill. Praying that you will be able to say the same.

  3. Both quilts are beautiful! I especially love the reds and aquas in the child's quilt. Sorry to hear about the cancer, I think that is the word I absolutely hate most in life! Seems we hear it more and more often too. Prayers for your loved one and for you too my friend! Have a blessed week...:)

  6. Jeanna, both these quilts are wonderful. Summer Sampler is very aptly named - it feels like summer! Sending a prayer for your relative in their fight with lung cancer.

  7. I could just repeat what Lara said ... I agree with each of her comments!

Your quilts are wonderful and generous. I wish the best for your relative who is ill.

And the sound of a screen door's slam is the one loud household sound that I never have complained about.
