17 UFOs in 2017 – March

We are already one-quarter of the way through 2017.  Time flies when you are having fun.

And fun is exactly what I’ve been having.  I was a bit off my creative game in February due to a couple of distractions…nothing bad.

This is one of them.

Long story short…my DH and I purchased a travel trailer last fall only to find that it, combined with the larger truck needed to pull it, was just too big for me.  I was not comfortable towing such a large unit and was no way going to try to back it in anywhere.  My DH didn’t have any issues with it but the idea is to eventually travel all over the country and one person shouldn’t be doing all of the driving.  So, after 4 months we downsized to a 25’ trailer and a smaller truck.  For the record, I must say that my DH wanted the Airstream in the beginning so he eventually got what he wanted.

Now, back to what this blog is really about…

I didn’t accomplish my February goals for OMG nor 17 UFOs in 2017 but I did have success in March.

Finished turning the Birdie Stitches blocks into small quilts to be displayed monthly.  Some of the binding looks black but it isn’t…I’m not a photographer by any means.

Building Blocks #8 was a lesson in Slip Stitch.

Building Blocks #9 was a lesson in Left Twist.

I also completed two Farm Girl Vintage blocks.  If you haven't see them already, click here.

My 17 UFOs in 2017 goals for April is to finish Building Blocks 10, 11 and 12.  I would also like to finish two summer table runners and two more Farm Girl Vintage blocks.

Wish me luck.  Be sure to visit pomegranate and chintz to see what others accomplished in March.  Thanks to Meredithe and Anne for the encouragement.

I’m off now to pack for the weekend…Arya the Airstream wants to go to the woods 😊

Have a lovely weekend, my friends.

I understand about not wanting to drive something so big. My dad side swiped their brand new motor home the first day on a pole. They always book pull through spaces now. Great job on your UFOs.

I love your birdie stitcheries! I have enough trouble just reversing my car, so no way would I consider towing something that size!! Have a great weekend!

I don't even want to drive our new Subaru--so totally empathize with you....

Your building blocks are beautiful as are your stitcheries. I don't like having to pull anything on the truck so I completely understand the downsizing.

Love the Airstream! I know you must be enjoying it! I eventually want to get an RV..but that's way down the list. Hopefully closer to or for retirement. The little birdie quilts are so adorable. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Hugs, Vicky

Looks like you may be getting son stitching done on the road. Great little birdies!

I don't blame you about not wanting to drive a big truck and trailer unit. Even our smaller one would be something I would not be happy to attempt. My sister-in-law drives a big truck and pulls maybe a 27 foot trailer. She has a kayak and a three wheel Harley motocycle in the bed of the truck while she hauls the trailer. Does it all by herself.

I love what you did with the Birdie Stitches blocks. Your Building Blocks look great too. Will you sew them all together in the end?

All progress is good progress, right? Love seeing your Building Blocks - who knew there were so many design possibilities with some string and two sticks?!

Oh Jeanna, you will have so much fun with the Airstream! My parents had one for years and did many long enjoyable trips, coast to coast. They travelled to Arizona many times to visit my Mom's sister.
You've been busy and I'd say you're accomplishing a lot, considering that Airstream must be constantly calling your name... :)
Have FUN!
