I Made It!

Yep, I wrote another blog post in less than one month J I thought I would be posting more frequently but I haven’t.  I have been so busy and certainly NOT in a routine yet.  I’m not complaining because I am getting a lot done…just can’t quite tell you what it is though.

My husband and I enjoyed our cruise.  It was rest and relaxation that we both desperately needed.

He is so adorable…if I say so myself J

I mentioned in my last post that I was taking a couple of classes at my LQS. Well, it turned out to be only one class but it was well worth it.  It featured the ever so popular Fold n’ Stitch Wreath / Candle Mat pattern by Poor House Quilt Designs.

I made a candle mat in my daughter’s college colors…University of Central Florida.  I may add a bow so she can use it as a wreath as well.

Another project I shared about here is now a finish.  Summer cowl…

With everything else going on, I put this aside when I only had an inch left to knit.  A new knitting / hand-crafting group started gathering at a local church on Monday evenings.  My long-time friend and co-worker invited me to attend so I finished the knitting portion of the cowl last Monday.  I blocked it on Tuesday.

If you are a regular follower then you know that my son is in the Navy and stationed in Japan.  Currently, he is in Jacksonville, FL for three weeks participating in a special training course.  We spent this weekend visiting with him and it was not only a special time but SUPER special because it happened to also be my husband’s birthday.

I enjoyed one last big bear hug from my son until December.

That is my last month in a nutshell.  I’m off now to enjoy a cup of coffee and to catch up on reading my favorite blogs.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Big hugs to you!

I enjoyed reading an update on what you have been doing. I'm so glad that you didn't get on a cruise that had any of the problems we have been reading about. What a joy for you to be able to see your son who has been stationed so far away. I think the candle mat is amazing. Love the 3D.

I think you are both adorable. I am so glad to hear that you got to see your son -and the special part about it being on your husband's birthday. What a joy.
The Candle Mat looks complicated to me. I will stick with quilting and weaving. :-)

What a beautiful couple you and your hubby make! I am happy to hear you had a nice, relaxing time on your cruise. My friend, Heather is on a 7 day cruise right now. She is the one who has been battling Stage 4 colon cancer. She is doing amazing right now! Anywho, so awesome you got to see your son. I know that did your heart good. The candle wreath is so cool! I love it. Have a great rest of the week.

Hugs, Vicky

You both are adorable in your picture together Jeanna! How great that the cruise was a lot of fun and that you got the much needed R&R.

Love your wreath and cowl projects! The cowl looks so lacy and light.

So glad that you got to spend time with your son while he was here stateside. It's hard having them so far away. I hope he likes being in Japan. Our son's best friend just returned from his Marine Corps duty there.

Wow -- that candle mat is really cool!! I'm going to have to hunt for a tutorial for that . . . I can see terrific application for it! Your cowl is pretty -- nicely finished and in a great color!! Please thank your son on my behalf for his faithful service! I was in the Navy for six years (a very long time ago) and have a special place in my patriotic heart for those who serve in that branch!! :)
