Wooly Firecrackers and Happy 4th!

Celebrating our nation’s birthday with another small finish.

Bareroots Little Stitches - #144 Firecrackers Candle Mat

I purchased the kit from The Village Mercantile booth at our local quilt show in February last year, yes, 2014.  This post is a recap of some of my purchases.

This project is very different for me as it is a bit prim and wool felt instead of cotton.  I had a blast with these little beads.  No…really, I did.  I found stitching them on to be fun and relaxing.

This finish allows me to check-off an item on my "To Do" list that was created here.  I have other updates to my lists that I need to organize and share with you...another time.

To all of my friends here in the good ol'
United States of America
I wish you a happy and safe July 4th!!

  1. A very happy 4th to you also, Jeanna. I like the little mat. It is interesting how sewing the beads down is actually enjoyable. I don't do it often but when I do, it is fun.

  6. Nice candle mat. Nice to know you could purchase a kit at a local show. The local shops don't seem very interested in selling wool.
