Farmer's Market, 3 New Men in My Life and a Lesson Learned

So many of you have posted pictures of your gardens and it has me looking forward to the day I will have time to plant my own.  We love fresh fruits and vegetables but have to rely on our local farmer's markets and produce stands to provide the bounty.

My DH and I do our food shopping on Saturday mornings.  Here are a few pictures from our spree yesterday...

And this is what we brought home...

The cranberry walnut bread is absolutely fantastic!

On the stitching front, I've started another helmet liner that I spoke about here. And I put together these three cuties...

Meet the Three Wise Gingerbread Men from the Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber Deck-Ade the Halls project.  They are the three new men in my life.  We spent the whole day together today :)

I also made some progress on Doreen's Jelly Roll quilt along but not near enough and I didn't even touch my DD's graduation quilt.  It seems that I've set unattainable goals for myself.  Between my full-time job and household duties I simply do not have enough time to keep up with a UFO / stashbuster quilt along, a new seasonal quilt, my DD's gift AND knitting for the soldiers.

So, my new plan is to finish Doreen's project, catch up and keep up with Deck-Ade the Halls and not start anything new until the graduation gift is finished.  My DD's quilt is very important and must be as close to perfect as I can possibly make it.

Since I can knit on the commute to and from work, I'll still be able to work on the helmet liners.   This project is also very important to me.

This adventure is still very new and it will take me some time to figure out a schedule that works.  For now, I am enjoying my time at the sewing machine and keeping up with YOU, my friends in blogland.

Hope you have a slammin' week...just like me :)

That is a beautiful farmer's market! I've been wanting o start a quilt for my daughter also, for when she goes off to college. Considering I've never quilted, I guess I better get started - only 14 months left!

I am feeling bad for neglecting my garden now, but there are so many things to do and so little time. Also, I am awful at organising my time, so need a schedule!

Your Farmer's Market looks wonderful and quite adequate for now, but I feel the same as you about growing your own. I too have chosen quilting over gardening and still can't seem to get organized enough to get everything done in a day that I want to accomplish. But it sounds like you are off to a great start. Looking forward to seeing your projects develop.

We can not work a garden this year. We have always had something growing. Seems odd! We have a market nearby and also kids will share with us too.;-)
It always amazes me what all we gals think we can get done! My mind says I am 30 but my body says nope...60ish! Plus I also have to remind my mind there is only 12 hrs in my day!!!hahaha!
Cute fellas and I bet the grad quilt will be perfect!

We have a fabulous local farmers market, so much so that I don't see the need to plant a garden when I can support our local farmers and hey, I get out of all that weeding, haha. Have a great week!!

You sure have a gorgeous farmer's market, Jeanna! Your take home looks a lot like ours ;>) I adore the little gingerbread men - perfect fabrics, too! I know what you mean about having lofty goals. I learned long ago that one sewing project at a time was enough for me! I'm sure you'll settle into a good routine before long!
Cheers!

Even though I have a garden I still go to the farmer's market every Saturday. I love shopping at ours. During the summer I hardly step foot in a regular grocery store. My hubby even likes going with me to the farmer's market.

Believe it or not I live in the country and we don't have a decent farmer's market! The rules and regulations are so strict that none of the local farmers can meet them and so no fresh produce is available here. The Peoples Mountain Market used to be a thriving enterprise until the government got involved now we have 5 booths mostly selling hand crafts.

Hey Jeanna! That's a pretty fantastic Farmer's market. Can you email me the location? Such cute gingerbread men! Like you, my schedule is pretty busy and needs to be tweaked from time to time. The important thing is to recognize that it needs to be tweaked. Have a great weekend!
